What an amazing week as we enter half way through Term 1.

Thank you to parents who attended our Meet The Teacher afternoon. The teachers worked together to deliver an overview of their expectations for your child in many curriculum areas. Teachers were able to explain on how we are endeavouring to communicate with you and your child from a class perspective. We hope parents appreciate this mode of communication and feel that they develop a better understanding of what we teach your child. All presentations from that afternoon will be posted onto the website.

Our district swimmers represent Georges River this coming Tuesday and we are very proud of our students’ achievement representing our school at this level. Thank you to Mrs Hills and Mr Dodd who will be accompanying our students in this Carnival.

Shortly we will send out an interview schedule on line for parents to request interviews with the class teacher. Parents can access a time that suits and lock this in. The interview dates are from Monday 8 April until Thursday 11 April 2019. A note will go home for the log in access and all means of Oatley communication channels will let parents know of the log in process.

Clean Up Australia Day was a huge success thanks to Mr Lao who organised class environmental areas and ensured students that acting locally impacted on us globally.

We are working towards ensuring our technology is nearly completed for student access. Year 6 is in the final year of Bring Your Own Devices,  Year 3/4, Year 4 and Year 5 students each have their own school managed ipad and Year 3 students each have their own school managed chromebook/laptop. We have created another technology room on the north site campus. Other than each class having pods of computers in their classroom K-2, there will be 55 school managed ipads including Lego robotics  and Bee Bots  for students to have access to.

There is the computer Lab of 30 computers and the Library of 30 computers for all students to access. Next term Oatley Public School will be implementing a program for all students to access specific Digital Technology skills which connects directly to the new Science and Technology Syllabus being introduced to all schools. We are working to provide opportunities for your chid to develop computational thinking skills. Watch this site for updates.
