During school holidays, construction began on the new pedestrian crossing on Letitia St has been. Unfortunately we need a dry day for Council to paint the stripes on it, so we have to be patient for a few more days until the weather clears. At least there’s light at the end of the tunnel!
Once the crossing is complete, new traffic signs will be installed. Pay special attention to where you park because the signs could change overnight, and you may inadvertently park in a No Parking or No Stopping zone.
The changes are/will be as follows:
Letitia Street changes:
** New No Stopping zones near the pedestrian crossing, to allow for visibility of pedestrians
** Some of the the “bays” between trees have changed from unrestricted parking to No Parking zones during school drop off/pick up times (same restriction as Neville St drop off zone). Outside of these times, it will be unrestricted parking between 9:30am – 2:30pm
Neville Street changes (already in place):
** A lot of parking has been removed on Neville Street to accommodate the pedestrian refuge. Double check parking signs to make sure you’re not parking in a No Stopping zone
Pick Up/Drop off zones:
We have 3 pick up/drop off zones so make sure you utilise all of them to reduce congestion in the Neville Street zone:
1. Neville St
2. Oatley Avenue (near the Flats)
3. Letitia St – bays between trees
**These areas are No Parking zones, so please remember that you have 2 minutes to drop off/pick up and you can’t go farther than 3m away from your car. Definitely no parking in these areas.
