Over the next month I will be compiling ideas for next years P&C fundraising schedule, as well as listing some of the major needs for the school so we can create a P&C action plan for 2020. This will include consultation with the school leadership and executive teams, with the intent to present this plan at the December P&C meeting. Your involvement in this process is encouraged so the P&C agenda represents your ideas, and all families have the opportunity to become engaged in activities for our kids.
Fundraising is an important part of the P&C’s role within the school. There have been countless initiatives that have been fully or partly funded by the OPS P&C that have made the school a better environment for our kids – both inside and outside of the classroom.
Please don’t hesitate to send any thoughts or ideas you may have around fundraising initiatives for 2020 to email@example.com for consideration in building this plan.
It is important to note that fundraising does not happen without people (i.e. volunteers). Whether it is an hour once a year helping out at an event, or a larger role within the fundraising committee (maybe an hour a week), we are always looking for help to make our events as successful as possible. I encourage everyone to step up and give back to the school as much as you can – the major limitation to including solid events in the 2020 action plan will be the lack of volunteers stepping forward to support assist with the events. Please let me know if you would like to find out more about how you can help (email me at the address above or catch me around the school).
I cannot finish without saying a huge thanks to those volunteers that have helped make past events as successful as they have been.
