Incredible sporting success

It is wonderful to have three amazing stories to share with you. First of all Year 6 student Alana S recently competed at the School Sport Australia Tennis Championships in Adelaide. Alana played singles, doubles and mixed doubles and achieved terrific personal results. Alana’s NSW team finished equal 2nd in the event.

The next big news is Thomas G and Joshua C competed at the NSW PSSA Cricket tournament in Barooga, both being recently selected in the Sydney East team. Both boys had a fabulous tournament and the  Sydney East team finished runners up in the final standings, being beaten by NSW Combined Independent Schools in a convincing manner. In Josh’s words “we got smashed!”

And…… Joshua C was selected in the NSW team which is just amazing considering there were 12 boys selected. Josh will be competing in Perth on the last 2 days of school and we wish him all the very best.

I must also add that Thomas, Josh and Alana all missed the Stage 3 Camp to Canberra to compete at these events and although they were missed their dedication to their sport is to be applauded.

Last but not least Year 5 student Rubin J competed in the Junior High Jump at the NSW PSSA Athletics Championships on Thursday. Rubin competed to the best of his ability and enjoyed the sportmanship and fanfare that this event offers. Considering there are 50, 000 junior boys in public schools in NSW, making it to this level is an incredible achievement.  Well done Rubin we are all so proud of you.
