Final Week of Term 1.

Thank you to all our dads for attending our Information night last Wednesday to find out about the Fathering Project. There was such a wonderful uptake of dads wanting to be part of this ongoing group. A date will be discussed for next term as it looks like it may take the  theme BANGERS AND BINGO. Watch out for more details to come next term.

School photos went really well with the thorough organisation from Mrs Markovski and the Advance Life photography team. Thank you to parents bringing their siblings early to school that morning it was the smoothest session that we have experienced for sibling photos. The children looked really impressive in the way they presented themselves for the photos.

All parent/teacher/student interviews will be held in your child’s classroom with the class teacher. If you would like to have an interview with any of our specialist teacher – Mrs Jodie Bannister, Mrs Wonda Zein, Mrs Nicole White, Mrs Luisa Janic or Ms Penny Johnstone please do not hesitate to ring the office to schedule an interview time. Mrs Eqbal Hammoud is now on maternity leave and Mrs Tammy Boutsikakis is relieving in this role on Monday and Tuesdays each week.

In our final week of this term the teachers will be involved in collaborative planning days where the teacher plan, program and develop assessment strategies collaboratively to ensure consistency of program delivery and assessment as we lead into Semester 1 reports. The teachers really value this opportunity to work together.

Please get your raffle tickets back to the office for the Easter raffle. Beautiful Easter baskets/hampers are being made by the parents for each class and what a way to win a hamper. These will be drawn on Wednesday 10 April in between the Hat Parade. This will start 10.30am on the south site weather permitting. Alternately if it rains it will be held in the hall with only K-2 students.

We also have our Easter Service for all scripture students at 9.30am in the school hall. All students are invited to attend if their parents wish them to opt in please make sure you send a note to the class teacher. Otherwise ethics/non scripture will remain in G Block while the Easter service runs for the half hour.

Term 1 ends on Friday 12 April 2019. Term 2 resumes for all students on Tuesday 30 April 2019. The school will be open on the Monday for our teacher professional learning day only.

Mr Mark Pardi will continue in his role with 5M as Mrs McKinnon continues her long service leave. Mrs Hills will continue for a week back on 6S next term to allow the school to go to interviews for a permanent staff member to be appointed to the school which won’t be known until the first week of the holiday break. Mrs Rebecca Shepherd also returns in a part time capacity next term as our substantiative Assistant Principal. I would like to thank all the staff for the dedication and enthusiasm they have given to our students to make this first school term year the success it has been.
