On Monday April 1st years 3 – 6 ventured down to Renown Oval for the annual Cross COuntry Carnival. What a great day we all had. I was very proud of how all students participated, despite challenging conditions at times. The students and teachers walked down to the oval and then settled into their house groups. The event started off with the Under 8’s / 9’s and what a fantastic effort it was. Running 2000 metres is certainly a long way. The seniors ran last running very impressive times over 300 metres!! The top 6 runners were recorded but only the top 4 are going to the district carnival, held next term. I would personally like to thank all the teachers who took the extra time to help and assist me in the running of the event.in particular Mrs Hewitt with the setting out of the course. It certainly was a team effort!!
A special mention to the parents who came down to help, providing extra support and encouragement for the students. In particular I would like to thank Mr Coxsedge and Mrs Krcmar for you assistance in setting the event up. These events are successful and generally run smoothly as a result of collaborating ideas between teachers and support from the community.
Thanks for a great day.
